Walmart Recalls Faulty Electric Blankets Amid Safety Concerns
Walmart has pulled MaxKare Electric Blankets from its online marketplace following reports of overheating incidents. The Consumer Product Safety Commission documented 34 cases, including three burns and two fires linked to the Chinese-manufactured products. Approximately 8,560 units sold between June 2021 and November 2024 are affected.
The recall compounds recent challenges for the retail giant, coming days after listeria contamination fears emerged in its food supply chain. Walmart emphasizes its commitment to safety through dedicated product compliance teams, urging consumers to discontinue use of the defective blankets immediately.
